When the time comes to let go...

20 years ago I was getting ready to head off to University for the first time...getting bedding ready, my mom offered me some white pillow cases that she had, so I thought, perfect, but I bet everyone will have the same so I embroidered my name, or I should say my dad's "name" for me....at that point in my life he was the only person who called me DAR. Recently, when cleaning my linen closet, I realized that I still had them, imagine, I have been across the country and back

and STILL had them...well I can't remember the last time I used them....but oh they were just the perfect feel and texture for yes my favourite thing, tea-dying...they turned out great....now they are on their way to becoming a "Darla Girl", which Darla Creations will be launching in the near future...what better way to use them...who knew that BA in Art would lead to the "Darla Girl" doll ....oh and I left with another very inspirational piece on the first day of the rest of my life too....you'll hear about that soon too...stay tuned....and thank you mom for believing I could be anything and giving me some pieces of home to make sure that I did!
